Under the leadership of Paul and Sally Vivian, Widcombe is a long-established family two chair dental practice in Bath, Somerset.  Engaging Hesketh Healthcare to help plan the purchase of a competitor practice across the street.  The need for financial stability and establishing a strategy for growth around high quality, digital dentistry.

The practice principal, Paul Vivian, is known for his exceptional clinical skills. Moreover, the practice was strategically situated in a wealthy area of the country with discerning customers. This presented a significant opportunity to grow the practice and increase its profitability.  With the management of the practice under Sally Vivian, we worked on team building, infrastructure improvement, rebranding and overseeing financial command and control.

The Journey

One of the key actions involved building a strong clinical team, which not only improved the quality of patient care but also allowed Paul to ease the fee earning burden as principal. In addition to the clinical team, support services, including the reception team, were developed to create a seamless patient experience. An integral part of the journey was assisting in the negotiation process for acquiring the neighbouring site. This involved financial planning, legal considerations, and other logistical aspects to ensure a successful expansion. Furthermore, optimizing the surgery planning and patient flow was crucial in making the most of the extra chair space available in the new location. This helped in accommodating more patients and increasing revenue.
